ARTIST BIO
Lauren Riegelman (she/her) is a Vermont based artist, specializing in tattoos, custom graphic design, illustration and mural work.
Privateyez studio has recently moved, joining forces with karla Dagovitz, owner and operator of ‘stranger still’ to create a beautiful new studio space. This space provides an elegantly curated artistic respite from the outside world.
Lauren obtained a BFA at Maine College of Art in 2007, with a major in painting, and minor in drawing. She spent the next decade developing an exceptional black and white line art and shading style that can immediately be identified as hers. Along the way she began to build a beautiful portfolio of custom artwork for various hired projects. The progression into tattooing was a natural one, as her work translated so well to skin, and her clients were already deciding which of her drawings would go where.
Lauren began her tattoo journey the self-taught route, before being accepted into an apprenticeship at fortune teller tattoo in burlington. In 2018 she earned her vermont state license, and spent several successful years working and learning among many great artists. Lauren left to open her own private studio in early 2022 at the soda plant on pine street for the following 3 years, establishing her style and client base in burlington further. Both Privateyez Studio and Stranger Still look forward to hosting you in the new space- please reach out to each individual artist for booking inquiries. Privateyez enjoys working in her distinctive blackwork style, and in themes surrounding nature (flora & Fauna), dark art/ the occult/mysticism, PSYCHEDELIC and OPART, as well as outsider and street art. She has a book of flash for you waiting when you are ready! tattooing is a sacred and ancient tradition, which both artists honor in the highest regard. privateyez studio and stranger still create and maintain a safe space for bipoc, LGBTQIA+, and a body positive space.
